Gunung Tujuh Lake (Seven Mountain Lake) is a caldera lake formed by volcanic activity in the past. At an altitude of 1996 m above sea level, this lake is the highest lake in Southeast Asia. The lake is often covered in fog with an average temperature of 17 0C. Lake Area of 960 ha ± 4.5 km in length and width ranging from 3 km. The lake is surrounded by seven mountains, the Upper Mount Tebo (2525 meters), Mount Hulu Sangir (2330 m), Madura Iron Mountain (2418 m), Mount Moss covered the various types of moss (2350 m), Mount Selasih (2230 m) , Mount Jar Panggang (2469 m), and Mount Seven (2735 m).
Seven Mountain lake known as Lake sacred by the community. Lake water always looks clean even the leaves were not found although there were many fallen trees on the edge of the lake. Seven Mountain Lake is a source of livelihood for some villagers. There are several huts alongside a lake that is used by fishermen as a place to live. Day-to-day fishing with the fishermen and fish trap boat, early morning fish trap installed in the middle of the lake later this afternoon raised fish trap.
On holidays, many fishermen who rented the boat to circumnavigate the lake. If lucky, visitors can find purple flowers Edelweiss across the lake. A pride for Indonesia has the highest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia.
